Native Landscapes of Messina Hof Estates and the Vineyard District

The Vineyard District is located near the highest point of Brazos County in the ETJ of Bryan, Texas.  It is rich with native plant life, wildflowers, and natural buffers.

Native to our area are oaks, evergreen yaupon, Huisache and cedar, mesquite and dewberry vines.  To encourage the preservation of our native plant life, Messina Hof Estates requires 15’ natural buffers on all lots.  Native vegetation reduces erosion; provides weed control, evergreen winter foliage and beautiful color in spring. Plus, it encourages wildlife grazing, requires little to no maintenance and is earth friendly needing little to no irrigation.

Bonuses!  Did you know that yaupon can be made into a tea with mood improving characteristics like that found in chocolate plus it can lower blood pressure?  Mesquite beans can produce a powder that may improve migraine pain. Huisache delights in the spring when it is covered in profuse golden yellow.

Messina Hof Estates is a 24-lot native landscaped community in the Vineyard District just Northeast of Bryan, Texas, near Messina Hof Winery and Vineyard.
